As part of Atlas Addict Quarterly’s new website, we are re-releasing all of our travel + city guides–today’s is a mini guide for Meknes, Morocco, one of the four imperial cities of Morocco.

Places to see // Stop by the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, and remember to swing by the main square and souq for some shopping.

Day trip // Head over to Volubilis, the ancient Roman ruins nearby. The best time to see them is around sunset.

Places to eat // Stop by the Terrasses Pavillion de Idrissides for a lunch overlooking the main square.
Places to stay // Stay at a Riad. One such option is the Riad D’or.
Food to try //Pastilla is a delicious marriage of sweet and savory: a crepe-like meat pie. Also, harira is a local, Moroccan soup.
